  1. Philharmonie is--or was, as the liner notes indicate that this is their final recording--a French progressive instrumental rock trio consisting of Frederic L'Epee, Bernard Ros (guitars and synths) and Volodia Brice (drums). The cuts on this CD are heavy on guitar, but this is not heavy metal--more like King Crimson.4/5(3).
  2. Le Dernier Mot (The Last Word) was the fifth and final release by the French instrumental prog outfit Philharmonie. The group had disbanded in October , but some things had been left unsaid and original members Frédéric L'Épée (guitars) and Bernard Ros (who left his Chapman stick to play the Warr guitar on this album) teamed up with drummer Volodia Brice to record one last album between March and August 8/
  3. A great record that gives their many fans a chance to say a final farewell to a band with "a very fresh & different twist on the borderline King Crimson/Rock In Opposition genre" - Audion "Le Dernier Mot (The Last Word) was the fifth and final release by the French instrumental prog outfit Philharmonie.
  4. Mar 03,  · “The Last Word - Original Motion Picture Soundtrack” (12 tracks; 39 min.) is divided into 2 parts: the initial 6 tracks bring six of the songs that play in the movie. Nothing wrong with the songs that are on here, although neither was there a reason to include not one but two Al Lerner tracks (Any Time At All; A Woman’s Love Is Never)/5(9).
  5. Inside the CD-booklet you can read that "This record is the final release by PHILHARMONIE. What a shame, especially as this is a really exciting album with great all-instrumental compositions, performed by three technically good musicians. The music that is based on guitars is a mixture of Progressive rock and RIO/5.

  8. After 10 years of work, Philharmonie disbanded in October They had written & rehearsed all the material for a new release, & once we heard the rough demos, we suggested that they record The Last Word. The music features the amazing, instantly recognizable string interplay that all their albums feature, with the performances generally slanted towards the heavier sound of their previous CD, Rage.
